Martin Edgar BSc MSc MCIArb FRICS
Martin is a qualified Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years experience in the Scottish commercial property market.
Following graduation from Paisley University (BSc Land Economics) and Glasgow Caledonian University (MSc IT & Management), Martin began his career in the 1990s as a Trainee Surveyor with Jones Lang Wootton (now JLL). In 2003, along with two other JLL Directors, he set up a new Glasgow Office for Atisreal (now BNP Paribas Real Estate). Martin formed his own niche consultancy practice Edgar Property Solutions in 2007 which has an expanding portfolio of clients across Scotland.
One of the most highly qualified property experts of his generation, Martin’s association with professional bodies includes Fellowship of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and Membership of The Dispute Resolution Faculty Board. As one of only 24 Arbitrators in Scotland, Martin is also a Member of The RICS panel of Arbitrators/Independent Experts and a Member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
A firm believer in ‘giving something back’ within his profession, Martin is heavily involved in mentoring young surveyors, in addition to his role as an Assessor for The RICS Assessment of Professional Competency examinations (APC). He also presents regularly at conferences for many different companies and organisations, including The RICS, The Law Society of Scotland and The WS Society.
